Our Health and Environment programs focus on increasing awareness and creating positive daily habits.
The main health issues faced by the people of south Lombok include skin problems, infections, diarrhea, dental issues and Type 2 diabetes – conditions which are largely preventable with improved sanitation and diet.
And as our planet tackles enormous environmental pollution issues, we are working at a grassroots level to make positive change. We support and facilitate existing government health programs where possible.
Our programs in this area:
- Nutrition and sanitation workshops with new mothers, run by local midwives.
- Annual health checkups for the local community.
- Health insurance (BPJS) registration days, to assist families without public health insurance to register.
- Establishment of a “rubbish bank” program with the local primary school.
